Azul Brazilian Airlines
visual identity, ux, ui design
This project is divided in two sections, first: the visual identity and the second: mobile app.
I made the visual identity during my bachelor's degree (2015), and the mobile app was made recently (2016). They're here because I liked the experience of develop a project without the company's brief, based only in my research and personal experience.
I had to choose one company that from my point of view needed a redesign and Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras was my choice.
They deliver a quality service, but from my point of view their logo needed some modifications. I designed this proposal, collecting customers opinion's in their social media profiles, and searches about the company's history, with the intent to develop a good and consistent solution.
First of all, the name "Azul" means Blue in brazilian portuguese and was chosed by an public online voting website.
The logo construction was based on some features that communicates the company relationship with customers. The symbol is a sun stylized, inspired in the country's weather (Brazil). His shape was made with the intent to pass the feeling of movement.
I chose to keep the variation of colours, because most of the people said they really enjoy the colours on the map of the current logo, and think this makes the places, uniforms, tickets and other stuffs more fun.
Almost everything we need to do, we can do using our smartphones and plan a travel is one of these things.
According to the research "How people use their phones for travel" developed by Google, in October of 2016, mobile apps are being used to help travellers make the better decisions, check reviews, offers, book flights and of course, share their experiences with other people.
Considering this scenario, I decided to combine the brand's missions, visual identity and some customers needs listed on the research, to enhance Azul's mobile app.
Designing a brand new interface, trying to ensure that each task be easy, delightfull and the main goal is: engage more users.
I know there's always work to do, but I really liked the results and the opportunity to create this new logo and mobile app, being responsible for the UI and UX design.
I reached the goal of create something that is not focused just on visual aspects, but also in other details that are not visible but makes a lot of difference when you're using an app.
When you don't have a briefing with some do's and dont's from a client or other team members, the opportunities are endless, this can make you go into the wrong way, or be open to various options for a long time, and get stucked on things not so important to the goals defined before.
Create all of this by myself helped me learn how important is to keep in mind which problems should be solved and which methodology is better in a short time.
